Antiques Valuation Roadshow
Join us for an exciting new event at The Watercress Line
Further details to follow
In partnership with a well-known Fine Art Auctioneers & Valuers, we invite everyone to bring their railwayana and train related memorabilia to a special valuation and appraisal day which we will be hosting on Alresford Station Forecourt, from 10am – 3pm.
A team of valuers from Andrew Smith & Son will be here to value your items. They do not need to be exclusively railway related goods: any attic finds, jewellery, art, furniture, chinaware, etc can also be brought along.
In the fashion of a similar TV programme, our valuers will be dotted around the station sitting at tables with parasols. You can observe the valuers at work, and you can even test your skills with our own ‘Basic, Better, Best’ presentations at 11.30am and at 1.30pm.
Entry to the Antique Valuation Roadshow and the informal valuations is free. However, we do ask that you click on the ‘Book Tickets’ button below so we know visitor numbers.
Please note that train tickets for the day need to be purchased separately; please click on the button below to book.
You can read more about Andrew Smith & Son here.
There will be 1930s – 1950s music playing and our West Country Buffet and NEW outside terraced café will be serving delicious home-made cakes, lunches and teas.
In addition, we will also have a free vintage bus taking people on short trips around Alresford. You are welcome to bring picnics, or why not round off this special day with a ride on a steam train (bookable online or on the day).
FREE Vintage Bus Rides
The vintage bus leaves Alresford station on a circular route through Bishop’s Sutton at the following times on a trip lasting 20 minutes:
11.00, 11.30, 12.00, 12.30, 13.00, then 14.00, 14.30, 15.00, 15.30.
The service is free of charge and open to all – no train ticket is required.
Buses are provided and run by members of the Medstead Depot Omnibus Group.
Please Note:
• Please bring your own tables and chairs if you wish to picnic.
• If you have particularly large, heavy or valuable items you wish to bring, please contact Andrew Smith & Son before the event to discuss your item: auctions@andrewsmithandson.com.
