By leaving a legacy to the Watercress Line, you or a loved one will make a lasting contribution to the preservation of the railway’s heritage.

We rely on legacies as part of our fundraising. They enable us to carry on with the valuable work of preserving, restoring, maintaining and running the many valuable and priceless artefacts which make up the Watercress Line.

We are no longer able to just go and purchase the engines, carriages and the many artefacts and equipment necessary to keep our operations going day after day, week after week…

And these artefacts extend much further than the locomotives and carriages which are seen every day. They include signals and signal boxes, stations, bridges, buildings, footpaths and the many unsung parts of the whole infrastructure of the railway.

We simply cannot operate our railway without raising funds and a legacy is a tax-efficient way of helping to keep the heritage active. If you have not yet made a will, or if you have made one already, please do not be concerned: we can assist you and put you in touch with professionals who will help. They will give sound independent advice in compliance with the Code of Fundraising Practice. This will protect you and your successors and draft a legacy for the Watercress Line as part of that process.
