Alresford Christmas Lantern Procession

Start the festive season with a spectacular Christmas lantern procession through the streets of Alresford. Starting at Perins School, the procession will culminate at Alresford Station in time to see the arrival of our magnificent Steam Illuminations train. Once all the lanterns arrive at The Watercress Line, there will be live, traditional Christmas music and songs with local folk band Shantyhead. We’d love for you to sing a long too, check out the set list and words here. 

Everyone is invited to be a part of the procession, young and old, families, schools and groups. Bring a willow and paper lantern which can be as small or as huge as you like. It can be a simple creation or a group engineering masterpiece. And if you don’t know how to make one, it’s easy!

Entry is free but you need to register to take part.

(If you don’t want to make a lantern or take part in the procession, spectators are also welcome along the route in West Street, Station Road or at Alresford Station).
