Art on the Line
Art on the Line
All Four Stations
10am – 4pm
For the second year, The Watercress Line is hosting over 80 artists from some leading local art societies who will come and spend a weekend painting ‘en plein air’ at the four heritage stations along the railway line.
Many of our towns and villages have thriving communities of artists, so we are pleased to welcome back the Alresford Art Society, the Alton Art Society, the Fleet Art Society and this year, for the first time, Winchester Art Club.
These sketchers, painters and mixed media artists will be capturing the many charming scenes along our heritage railway line, where they can be found on and around our stations.
Jump off the train at Medstead, Ropley, Alresford and Alton, where you can admire them at work with their easels and paint boxes and chat to them about the scenes they are depicting in a range of media. Station staff will be only too pleased to direct you to their exact locations on or around each station. And if you would like to bring your sketch book, you are most welcome to come and take part too.
This event is weather dependent. If it is wet, artists may not attend.
