enjoy a traditional Sunday roast on a heritage train

The delicious three course lunch is served in beautiful dining carriages on select Sundays

Watch the picturesque Hampshire countryside drift by as you enjoy a traditional Sunday roast, in our First Class dining carriages of a beautifully restored, 70 year old train.

So sit back, relax and enjoy!

The train departs from Alresford Station at 1pm, travels up and down our 10 mile line, returning to Alresford at 4:30pm.

Please note, the train can not be boarded at Alton station.

The Countryman uses a pair of British Railways MK1 Open Saloons dating from the 1950’s. With the bulk of trains formed of side corridor compartment coaches, these vehicles with a central aisle were often used in conjunction with a catering vehicle to provide a reserved seating area for the service of complete meals : breakfasts, lunches and dinners appropriate to the time of day. The First Class Saloons with the Kitchen Car running as part of a service train, give an impression of train travel from 70 years ago. So sit back, relax and enjoy!

The train departs from Alresford Station at 1pm, travels up and down our 10 mile line, returning to Alresford at 4:30pm.

Please note, the train can not be boarded at Alton station.
