Enjoy a Special Evening of Fine Dining aboard a Steam Train
Enjoy a delicious, contemporary 3 course meal and fine wines while savouring the opulent comfort in 1st Class carriages of this beautifully restored, 70 year old train.
At the 3 course dinner guests will enjoy a delicious fine dining experience with all courses created using seasonal, locally sourced ingredients, brought to you by Lemon Stone Events. There will also be an extensive wine menu to include a locally sourced English sparkling wine. With the addition of the warm ambience of richly upholstered seats, original wooden interiors, cosy table lamps in the windows, curtains, and tables with white damask cloths, it will be an unforgettable experience.

If you have booked this experience as a gift, please inform us of any amendments to dietary requirements at least two weeks in advance of the date of travel. Unfortunately, we cannot cater for any changes on the night.
Evening Overview
Arrival from 6pm for a drinks reception at the West Country Buffet.
The train departs from Alresford Station at 7:15pm, returning to Alresford at 10:30pm.
Please note, the experience on the 22nd of May will depart from Alton Station.
For the Alton experience, please arrive at Alton Station from 6:15pm for a complimentary drink on the platform, ready for the 7:05pm departure, returning at 10:30pm.

This is a family-run 16th-century former coaching inn with a very cosy bar, log fire in winter and traditional-style bedrooms in sumptuous colours. A new outdoor terraced area is due to open in early summer 2024. They do excellent, very reasonably priced food, and we especially recommend the ‘Twice Baked Watercress Soufflé’ if you stay for lunch on Sunday!
