Magic of Locomotion
Enjoy the fun of magic and steam in February half-term!
Discover the magic of train travel with our very own magicians! Be spellbound by our shows at the Old Goods Shed in Alresford and wonder at the close-up tricks and entertainment on board our service trains. Enjoy learning how the magic becomes reality to make our locomotives move.
While on board enjoy the scenery of the South Downs National Park. Children will be provided with activity sheets to entertain them on the journey and our magician will amaze you with some close up tricks.
Activities run from 10.30am-4.30pm
Plus...All aboard Railway 200's exhibition train!
We are delighted that the Railway 200 Inspiration train is visiting The Watercress Line on the 19th-20th February, as part of it’s tour of Britain.
Inspiration is a family-friendly exhibition train celebrating 200 years of the modern railway, looking at past, present and future rail.
Tickets to Inspiration are free, but visitors must buy a Magic Of Locomotion ticket to be able to book an Inspiration time slot. You can book both Magic of Locomotion and Inspiration tickets from the ticket links on this page.

What's On
• Enjoy heritage train rides throughout the day.
• Marvel at magic shows upstairs in the Old Goods Shed at Alresford (different shows running all day).
• Be captivated by close up magic tricks from our onboard magician travelling on our Alresford train.

• Don’t forget to pick up free colouring sheets in Alton Waiting Room.
• Relax in the West Country Buffet which will be open for hot & cold food and drinks (9.30am – 4:30pm).
• Browse Alresford Shop for gifts and mementos of your day (10am – 4pm).
• Visit Alton Kiosk for hot & cold drinks and snacks (11.15am – 4pm).
